Medical Systems Administration
Gain the valuable skills you need in a variety of computer-assisted medical office settings, including hospitals, medical and dental offices and insurance and billing companies. Learn medical terminology, transcription, insurance and coding, and computerized patient accounting. Students are introduced to word processing and spreadsheet applications in the DOS and Windows environments. CPR certification is included. Externship opportunities may be available.
Biomedical Equipment Technology
With a Biomedical Equipment Technology degree you can become an essential member of a health care team. You can specialize in instrumentation and/or medical equipment maintenance and repair with emphasis on troubleshooting techniques. The core courses include, in addition to analog and digital fundamentals, medical terminology, biomedical instrumentation, and medical equipment troubleshooting. This is a demanding and potentially very rewarding program that is not right for everyone. An externship course is required in this program.
